The Mekong Delta in Vietnam is a granary land with rich natural environment. But for climate change of global warming, it is considered that one of the most vulnerable areas. In economic growth by trade economy, people pay attention on their profits than understand the importance of wastewater treatment, overuse of chemicals and garbage problems. Also, "Ecologic-lifestyle of Vietnam in harmony with the environment" is eliminating among young generation influenced by global economic change. The GREEN would like to conduct environmental protection activities in improving current situation which widely influenced among youth in the Can Tho City.

We do believe participatory action-oriented training (PAOT) methodology is one of the most effective solutions in solving these issues. We have a responsibility to develop practical training curriculum for environment protection education to young generation in the schools and districts. If the school teachers and school stakeholders play a role of trainers of environment protection by applying PAOT methodology in their teaching, young generation will recognize the situations and display their excellent abilities in their daily life and studies.
We already got many improvements of the WINDY program from 2011 to 2013 which supported by Japan Fund for Global Environment. Based on these results, we would like to launch a new program of the WINDY EXPAND PROGRAM in targeting high schools and junior high schools in Can Tho City.

In this program, we will learn practical solutions with teachers including how to organize participatory action- oriented training in the first step. Then teachers conduct WINDY training for students in the second step. For the third step, the GREEN and teachers will collect students’ achievements and encourage them to implement sustainable environment protection activities.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Peoples' committee in Can Tho City and the Department of Education and Training for strong support of the WINDY EXPAND PROGRAM. We promise to overcome all difficulties, spread this practical environment protection program among young generation in the Mekong Delta, and hope to have a great achievement in the future.
